Language and the words we use are always changing. They reflect a human playfulness to accentuate the absurd and to share how we feel, dream and perceive the things around us. There is no right way to find your way around the words on our site, just dive in and follow the threads. You might end up in serendipity.
Using our tags
In the search function and at the bottom of every page you will find tags. These are key words that you can use to find other words related to the topic you are reading about. Tags are a great way following a thread through the site. The quirkier the word the more fun it is. And there are certain writers who are more fun than others.
Some background
The Word of the Week website has been around for many years with some content Tim generated. He used to publish the Word of the Week content on a business site called Madrigal Communications. He decided to separate the sites in 2025 and create this free-standing WOTW site. If you see references, logos or links to Madrigal we are slowly cleaning them up.
